Tempest Technician

SUMMARY

Conducts and leads TEMPEST testing using approved test plan, the production test procedures and the current National TEMPEST Standard by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads test schedules.
  • Reads and understands the test plan including test setup, test modes, test messages, and test monitors.
  • Installs the equipment under Test (EUT) in the shielded enclosure in accordance with the test plan and current National TEMPEST Standard.
  • Verifies that the EUT is operational in all test modes.
  • Verifies that the detection system test equipment is in calibration and that it is operating correctly.
  • Performs test setup ambient measurements.
  • Performs detection system sensitivity measurements.
  • Performs Facility Certification measurements.
  • Conducts the TEMPEST test in accordance with the approved test plan and current National TEMPEST Standards.
  • Maintains TEMPEST project logbook.
  • Posts the test results using the appropriate software.
  • Analyzes the test results and reports the results to the TEMPEST Engineer.
  • Assists the TEMPEST Engineer in performing the TEMPEST modifications, i.e. installs filters, electronic components, shielding, etc.
  • Verifies that the TEMPEST modifications perform as required.
  • Prepares TEMPEST test reports in accordance with the current National TEMPEST Standard.
  • Assists the TEMPEST Engineer in preparing the TEMPEST Test Plan, TEMPEST Test Report, Critical Features List, and Configuration Baseline.
  • Attends project/engineering meetings as required.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Security Clearance or ability to obtain one; Certified TEMPEST Professional Level I (preferred)
