Operations Planning and Control Manager

Location: Salem New Hampshire

SUMMARY

The Operations Planning and Control Manager is responsible for developing and executing effective strategies to optimize production, inventory and shipping processes, ensure efficient use of resources, and meet customer demand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement plans and schedules for production, inventory management, and order fulfillment to meet customer demand
  • Coordinate and manage production, inventory and shipping processes to ensure efficient use of resources, timely delivery of products, and high levels of quality
  • Analyze production, inventory and shipping performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain inventory control systems to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste
  • Monitor supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components
  • Forecast demand and develop production schedules to meet changing customer needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of materials
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations related to production, shipping and inventory management
  • Manage a team of operations and planning personnel to drive performance and achieve goals

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises six employees in Production, Shipping and Inventory.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
